Knight’s Court Apartments, located at 97 Court Street in Bangor, offers 7 units of supportive housing.
Knight’s Court Apartments provides affordable housing for adults with disabilities - targeting individuals with cerebral palsy or serious seizure disorders. This project offers an opportunity for young adults with Cerebral Palsy to move out of elderly nursing care facilities and into the community. Knight’s Court Apartments is located two blocks from the heart of downtown Bangor and its many amenities.
The new complex is comprised of seven fully handicapped accessible apartments, each with a private kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom, and a built-in lift system. There is a community room and laundry facility on site. Exterior doors are designed to automatically open for residents using a sensor system, allowing independent and autonomous access to the community.
The apartments at Knight’s Court create the opportunity for residents who are eligible for DHHS’s Section 20 waiver to live an independent life with the support of credentialed staff on an as-needed basis. Residents are free to work with a provider of their choice.
